Folk Dance can be interesting

December 3rd, 2011 in Saturday evening the Second Dance Contest in Silesian Dances took place at the University of Economics in Katowice. It was organized by the Song and Dance Ensemble ‘Silesianie’ and by the Folklore Society Silesianie. This year in the competition took part about a hundred dancers from all part of Silesia region in five age categories. They tried to prove that they are not ashamed folklore dances. In addition, they love them. We hope that this innovative project bring effects and Silesian dances come back and become a traditional part of our culture

‘Praha Srdce národů 2011’

In the end of May 2011 Song and Dance Ensemble ‘Silesianie’ toured in the capital of the Czech Republic at the 13th International Folklore Festival – ‘Prague the Heart of Nations 2011’. Czech audience had a chance to see the artistic program prepared by Silesians on Old Town square and in the Vinohred’s Theatre.
